Defence Attaché Office

The Defence Attaché Office at the Embassy of Sweden in Russia has the following main duties:

• To cover the development of the host country and analyse the situation regarding military matters and matters connected to the national defence as a whole.
  
  
• To advise the head of the diplomatic mission on military matters.
  
  
• To participate in the organizing of visits from Sweden to representatives of the Armed Forces of the host country.
  
  
• To participate in the organizing of visits to Sweden by representatives of the Armed Forces of the host country.
  
  
• To collect open information and supply the Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces with such information, to represent Sweden and support good relations between Sweden and the Armed Forces of the host country as well as with all the diplomatic representatives in the country in question.
  
  
• To perform any other task by order of the Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces.
  
  
• To support the different branches of the Swedish Armed Forces regarding purchases and sales of equipment and services, as well as to co-operate when possible with other branches of the Swedish Government and Swedish companies concerning military matters.
