Human Rights in Sweden

In Sweden, human rights are primarily protected through three Constitutional laws:
  • The Instrument of Government,
  • The Freedom of the Press Act and
  • The Fundamental Law on Freedom of Expression.

Freedom of the press has been protected in the Constitution since the 18th century and this right is one of the oldest in the country.
