In Sweden, entry visas are governed by the rules in the Schengen Agreement. Together with the other EU countries, Sweden has decided that the citizens of certain countries, whereof Malaysia is one, do not require entry visas. This means they can enter Sweden and stay for three months without a visa. The citizens of all other countries require visas in order to enter Sweden. A list of these countries is found to the right of this page. Third country nationals resident in Malaysia can apply for a Schengen visa, to visit Sweden, at the Embassy. Please note that the Embassy cannot accept cash payments of the visa application fee, you should pay the application fee (please contact the Embassy for the application fee amount) at Maybank and bring the receipt to the Embassy. Please come to the Embassy to collect the account number.
Malaysian citizens seeking to live and/or work/study in Sweden will need residence- and work permits. Information about the applications procedures is found under "Work & Live in Sweden" and "Study in Sweden".
