Visa for visiting friends or relatives

What must I submit for a visa for visiting relative or friend?

• Application for Schengen Visa, completed, signed and dated

• Appendix D: Family Appendix for Applicants and travelplan

• Two colour photos not more than six months old, 3 x 4 size, full face and taken against white background

• Passport or other valid travel document with a validity of at least three months beyond the planned departure from Sweden. Photocopy of the first page of the passport as well as extensions and/or name changes

• A valid confirmed return airline-ticket to Indonesia / print-out ticket / ticket booking

• Medical travel insurance (original & copy), the insurance must cover a minimum of  € 30 000 for medical costs (treatment, hospitalization, etc); see medical / travel insurance

• A sponsor letter from Indonesia (company, institution etc.)

• A sponsor letter from the relative or friend in Sweden (appendix E form) plus a copy of their "personbevis" (excerpt from the population register), obtainable at the local tax office

• Documentation showing the relationship between the applicant and the referent, such as copy of house registration and/or civic registration paper

• Documents proving sufficient means for the entire visit such as bank statement or copy of bank book

• KIMS / KITAS (for foreign citizens residing in Indonesia)
