Visa for visiting friends or relatives

For a visa to visit friends or relatives residing in Sweden you are required to enclose an invitation – a letter – with your visa application.

What must I submit for a visa for visiting relative or friend?

  • Visa application forms, Appendix D, Travel Plan and two recent photographs size: 3 x 4 cm. See photo rules.

  • Copy of passport – only the biodata page

  • A valid confirmed return airline-ticket to Indonesia / print-out ticket / ticket booking.

  • Medical travel insurance (original & copy), the insurance must cover a minimum of  € 30 000 for medical costs (treatment, hospitalization, etc); see medical / travel insurance

  • A sponsor letter from Indonesia (company, institution etc.)

  • A sponsor letter from the relative or friend in Sweden (appendix E form) plus a copy of their "personbevis" (excerpt from the population register), obtainable at the local tax office

  • Financial statement of the last 3 month

  • KIMS / KITAS (for foreign citizens residing in Indonesia)
