Fact Sheets on Swedish Aid Projects

Sweden is an active partner in the efforts of developing countries to improve their conditions. Nearly 1% of Sweden's gross national income is budgeted for development assistance.

The funds are distributed either bilaterally to a number of developing countries or multilaterally through agencies of the United Nations. An emphasis is put on combating poverty, supporting democracy and human rights, promoting good governance, social and economic development, gender equality and sustainable growth.
