About the Embassy/Honorary Consulate General

The Embassy of Sweden in Kuala Lumpur will be reestablished. However, until further notice Malaysia is side-accredited to the Swedish Embassy in Jakarta.

An Honorary Consulate General opened to the public on 1 August 2011. At the Consulate it is possible to:
– pick up (but not apply for) passports, national id-cards and drivers license
– hand in applications for residence and work permits for Malaysian citizens
– pick up biometric residence and work permit cards.

The Honorary Consulate General will also be able to assist Swedish citizens in need and issue emergency passports.

Visiting hours:

Consular issues such as certification, passport etc. Wednesday 9am to 11am.

Migration issues such as inqueries about residence permitt Thursday 9am to 11am.
