Jazz

Accomplished artists such as Esbjörn Svensson, Anders Widmark, Nils Landgren, Rigmor Gustafsson, Magnus Lindgren, Jonas Kullhammar and Fabian Kallerdahl have helped propel Swedish jazz into the 21st century.  The Swedish Music Information Center (STIM / Svensk Musik) and the Swedish Jazz Federation (Svenska jazzriksförbundet) actively work to support and promote jazz in Sweden and abroad.

World / Folk Music

Combining synthesizers, electric guitars and modern production techniques with traditional instruments such as the violin and the nyckelharpa, innovative groups like Väsen, Hedningarna, Garmarna and Hoven Droven are at the forefront of a genre-bending new wave in Swedish folk music.

Classical Music

The percussion ensemble Kroumata, the cellist Torleif Thedéen, the pianist Fredrik Ullén and the chamber orchestras Musica Vitae and Camerata Roman are among the Swedish classical performers gracing U.S. stages during the past few years. Swedish pianist Per Tengstrand and the Scandinavian Chamber Orchestra perform regularly at venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Concerts Sweden (Rikskonserter) is a state foundation that annually organizes approximately 40 tours and 700 concerts, both national and international, mainly in the areas of classical music, jazz and folk music.
