Location and Visiting Hours

The Consulate General of Sweden is located at One Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza, at the intersection of 48th Street and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan, just a short walk from Grand Central Station and a few blocks from the United Nations Headquarters.

The consular reception is open from 10 am to 12 noon on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 2 pm to 4 pm on Tuesdays.  The consular reception is closed on Wednesdays. 

All visitors must enter from the 48th Street entrance. 

Parking is available in the building, with the garage entrance on 47th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues.

Regular phone hours are 9 am to 12 pm as well as 2 pm to 3 pm, Monday through Friday, Eastern Standard Time.

Specific questions about visas, residence and work permits are answered directly by the visa section at 212-583-2555 between the hours of 2 pm and 3 pm on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
