The Consulate General deals with the following consular matters:

• Handing out driving licence application forms.
• Delivery of ordinary passports, driving licences and Swedish national identity cards received from Vienna or Sweden.
• Assisting Swedish citizens in distress.
• Visiting Swedish citizens in prison.
• Life certificates for Swedish citizens.
• Issuing of death certificates of Swedish citizens deceased in Slovenia.


The Consulate General does not have the authority to deal with the following matters:

• Issuing of emergency passports. Applicants to contact the Embassy of Sweden in Vienna.
• Holiday visa applications (Schengen Visas).

• Residence permit applications or work permit applications. Applicants to contact the Embassy of Sweden in Vienna.
• Citizenship applications.
• Issuing of ordinary passports or Swedish national identity cards. Applicants to apply to the Embassy of Sweden in Vienna - or in Sweden - in person. List of passport offices in Sweden (in Swedish)
• Issuing of driving licences. Applicants to contact the Embassy of Sweden in Vienna.
• Performance of weddings. List of Swedish Embassies performing wedding ceremonies (in Swedish).
