Trade between Sweden and Zimbabwe

Trade between Sweden and Zimbabwe is small, but has the potential to grow. Zimbabwe is an emerging market, with arising opportunities especially within mining and agriculture. The infrastructure is there but Zimbabwean companies require technical assistance, innovations, new technology, chemicals and other input from foreign companies to rebuild the economy.

Swedish companies such as Sandvik, Scania, Atlas Copco, Dyno Nobel and Ericsson are already present in Zimbabwe and other big companies have displayed an interest in expanding within Southern Africa.

The Swedish Trade Council, STC, has its regional office in South Africa, but its Country Office in Botswana can assist Zimbabwean companies interested in doing business with Sweden as well as Swedish companies interested in establishing themselves on the Zimbabwean market. Please find contact details to STC in Johannesburg in the column to the right.
> Annual trade statistics between Zimbabwe and Sweden are available on the Swedish Trade Council's website.

STC conducted a fact-finding mission to Zimbabwe in September 2009. More information on their visit is available here.
