These are the channels for the lesbians to share and learn from one another their experience and feeling as well as to get support and counselling. This is one of the outcomes of a project funded by Sweden to promoting lesbians’ rights and the right to be free from violence and oppression in Vietnam. Sweden has pledged to contribute to SEK 2.7 million (approximately USD 340,000).
In line with the Swedish Government’s policy, which was adopted recently, this is a project aimed at promoting the human rights in Vietnam with a special focus on the rights of the Lesbian Gay Bi Trans-persons (LGBT) and in particular the rights of the lesbians. It also focuses on male behaviours in the combat against domestic violence. This support will also aim at strengthening the work and building capacity within the organisation CSAGA which will lead to a strong voice in the emerging civil society in Vietnam.
