By 4 August 2009, Vietnam had a total of 995 cases. 521 of these have been treated and discharged; the remainder are reported as stable.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that when entering Vietnam, a foreigner needs to provide full and precise information by filling in a form relating to his/her health situation, which is given by the airline companies or the health care quarantine of Vietnam; and to check his/her body temperature at the border gates. In case he/she is suspected of being infecting by the A (H1N1) virus, he/she will be separated by the health care agency and checked carefully for confirmation.
A foreigner, who enters Vietnam from an affected area in the world, needs to proactively take necessary measures for individual protection from influenza A(H1N1), to separate himself/herself from others and restrict to a maximum level of contact with others within seven days; when there are signs of being infected by the A (H1N1) virus. The person needs to go to a medical facility or inform the Ministry of Health by dialling number 0989671115 or send an email to: baocaodich@gmail.com in order to get counselling.
After entering Vietnam, during his/her stay and work in Vietnam, a foreigner needs to register his/her residential place, his/her working place and his/her telephone number for follow-up and monitoring in terms of his/her health situation, if necessary.
