Swedish High Level Delegation visits the Kurdistan Region of Iraq

A Swedish delegation headed by Ambassador Niclas Trouvé and the Head of the Division for the Middle East at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Robert Rydberg visited the Kurdistan Region of Iraq 11-12 October 2008. In Erbil, the Delegation met with H.E. President Massoud Barzani, H.E. Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani of the Kurdistan Regional Government, as well as with the Speaker of the Kurdistan National Assembly, H.E. Mr. Adnan Mufti. The delegation, that also included high level officials from the Ministry of Justice, the Migration Board and the Swedish Police Service, also met with a range of other Ministers, authorities and organizations. The focus of the discussions was the political development in Iraq, the cooperation between Sweden and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, including trade and investment, migration and development cooperation.
