The Swedish Embassy signs a five year contract with Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) project: TIB Paribartan – Driving Change

The Swedish Strategy for Development Cooperation with Bangladesh 2008-2012 has a strong focus on health, education, human rights and the four principles of participation, non-discrimination, transparency, and accountability. The target corruption in key health and education institutions with a focus on women’s rights and democratic governance through greater opportunities to assess and demand quality non-discriminatory social services.

The goal of the project is to reduce corruption for the benefit of the poor. The project, Paribartan - Driving Change seeks to strengthen National Integrity Systems, protect/sustain citizen entitlements and strengthen the social movement against corruption.

Sweden will support the project with 25 million SEK over a 5 year period. The project is also supported by TIB, Department for International Development (DFID), The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Royal Danish Embassy.
