Agreement between the government of Bangladesh and the Kingdom of Sweden on development cooperation for a period of 5 years

The Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, represented by Mr. M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Secretary, Economic Relations Division and the Kingdom of Sweden, represented by Ambassador Britt Hagström today signed a 5-Year agreement at Dhaka on Development Cooperation between the two countries. This agreement covers a minimum of 1.1 billion Swedish Kronor (approx. 1000 crore Thaka) over the period 2008 -2012.

Reaching results through Reality Checks

Do sector programmes benefit those who need it the most? This must be constantly monitored. Sweden is now trying a new method, called "Reality Check”. This method is based on poor people describing their common problems and opportunities. Their responses provide a clear picture of where input is most needed, with the focus on education and health.
