Women's Health
Heart disease, breast cancer, osteoporosis, depression and autoimmune diseases are just a few medical conditions that are of great concern for women today.
Heart disease is for example the leading killer of both men and women and although more men die of heart disease than women, females tend to be underdiagnosed, often to the point that it's too late to help them once the condition is discovered. On May 10th, the first event in the Science Café series on health and care issues where Swedish and American speakers will present and discuss important issues of our time, Women's Health is on the agenda.
Speakers :
Ms Alexandra Charles, 1.6 Million Club
Topic: It’s Dangerous to Be a Woman
Dr. Paula A. Johnson, Brigham and Women’s Hospital
Topic: Women’s Health: Paving the Way to the Future of Health and Care
Dr. Karin Schenck-Gustafsson, Karolinska Institutet
Topic: Women´s Heart Health - Still Too Little Attention?
Moderator: Rear Admiral Susan J. Blumentahl (Ret), M.D., M.P.A.
Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
RSVP required to: rsvp-hos@foreign.ministry.se
Partner: 1.6 Million Club for Women’s Health, Sweden
This event is part of the Embassy of Sweden’s "Health & Care" program running at House of Sweden until June 6th.
