Riiona Kionka’s first visit to the EU’s coordination meeting at the Council of Europe

On Monday the 7th of September, Riiona Kionka, the Personal Representative for Human Rights (CFSP) of The High Representative, Javier Solana, visits EU’s coordination meeting for the first time.

The Swedish Presidency has chosen to invite Kionka to present the human rights work of the EU to foster common interests.

The Swedish EU minister Cecilia Malmström on October 27 chaired a high level meeting in Luxemburg between the EU and the Council of Europe. The Council of Europe delegation was co-chaired by the newly elected Secretary General, Thorbjörn Jagland and Samuel Zbogar, Foreign Minister of Slovenia and Chairman of the Committee of Ministers.
