The International Holocaust Remembrance Day (27 January) was highlighted by activities within the Council of Europe. Ambassador Milos Pojar, Chair of the Task Force for International Co-operation on Holocaust Education, Remembrance and Research, initiated in 1998 by Sweden, visited the Council for discussions with the Committee of Ministers. In connection with the meeting an exhibition "The Solution to the Jewish Question in Slovakia" was officially opened by the Slovak Chairmanship.
The Council of Europe has a wide range of activities within the area of anti-semitism, racism and discrimination. The Council also has an extensive international co-operation within education and culture, which as inter alia resulted in joint projects on the Holocaust together with the "Task Force for International Co-operation on Holocaust Education, Remembrance and Research".
