Sweden has, in previous years, kept a low profile, with just a contribution of a translated Swedish film. This year, with the upcoming Swedish presidency of the EU, the Embassy took on a larger scale and invited the director, Kjell-Åke Andersson, and lead actor, Johan Widerberg, of the chosen film Juloratoriet (Christmas Oratorium) to a seminar on contemporary European film, as well as to the opening reception, giving the audience a chance to meet them.Despite being released already 13 years ago, it is still a true pleasure to watch Juloratoriet, and it has found its way to the position of a classic movie—a fact the satisfied director Kjell-Åke Andersson agreed upon, after the first acclaimed screening.
