Welcome to the Swedish Embassy in Sarajevo Bosnia and Herzegovina

On the Swedish language section you will find information about Bosnia and Herzegovina and information about consular matters, such as applying for a new passport.

The Embassy is open for the public: Monday to Friday 9.00-12.00.

To submit your application for a visa you must first make an appointment. Please call +387 33 276 037, Monday to Thursday 14.00-17.00.

  • Nov 17 2009 Swedish Migration Minister meets with acting Security Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina to discuss visa liberalisation
    On 12 November the Swedish Migration Minister, Tobias Billström, met with the acting Security Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mijo Kresic, to discuss visa liberalisation issues. Among the various things discussed, Tobias Billström confirmed that the visa liberalisation issue for the Western Balkan countries continues to be a top priority for the Swedish Presidency of the European Union. With regard to the progress that has been made in recent time, Mr Billström stated "The Presidency hopes that this progress can continue and lead to a positive assessment by the Commission so that visa freedom can be introduced as soon as possible".
