The symphony orchestra from Norrköping in Sweden is considered to be one of the most exciting ensembles in Scandinavia. Currently it is consisting of 85 musicians. The orchestra has a long and rich artistic history and today it plays a central role in the cultural life of the region. The principal conductor is Alan Buribayev. Norrköping Symphony Orchestra with the soloists Jaroslav Sonsky and Patrícia Bretas will perform the following programme in Bratislava:Franz Adolf Berwald: Symphony No. 3 in C Major „Sinfonie singulière“Bohuslav Martinů: Concertino for piano and chamber orchestra H. 173Edward Hagerup Grieg: Peer Gynt – Suite No. 1 Op. 46 and Suite No. 2 Op. 55Bratislava Music Festival has a 45 year tradition and it is the highlight of the music season in the Slovak capital. It has been Slovakia's only member in the Brussels-based European Festival Association (EFA) which associates the most prestigious music events in Europe. Norrköping Symphony Orchestra will perform in accordance with the tradition of the festival to present an ensemble from the country which is currently holding the presidency in the European Union. The concert of Norrköping Symphony Orchestra will take place thanks to a cooperation with the organizer of the Bratislava Music Festival and thanks to financial support of the partners Skanska CS, and SKF Slovensko.The concert will be held on November 25, 2009 at 7.30 p.m. in the historical building of the Slovak National Theatre at Hviezdoslav square.
