Month of Photography

November in Bratislava will be the Month of Photography. 34 individual and group exhibitions of both Slovak and foreign photographers will be presented in different museums and galleries. The main topic of the festival is the 20th anniversary of communism’s fall in countries of Eastern block.

Sweden is one of the 17 countries represented in this year’s festival. Jens Olof Lasthein is going to present his photo collection White Sea Black Sea, which was created during his journeys along the Eastern border of the European Union, from Arkhangelsk in the North to Odessa in the South. These pictures document the transition of the borderland between Eastern and Western Europe. The opening ceremony will be held on November 3, 2009 at 3.30 p.m. in Dom umenia on Námestie SNP 12 in Bratislava. The exhibition will be open till November 29.
