New routine regarding handing out residence permits to applicants From January 1, 2008

The Embassy of Sweden has decided that applicants of residence permits have to visit the Embassy in person in order get their residence permit stamped into their passport.

This new rule means that all persons who has been granted a Swedish residence permit has to come to the Embassy personally (even children) in order to get her or his residence permit in the passport.

Passports, where permits shall be entered, can be handed in to the Embassy of Sweden from Sunday to Wednesday, after 1 P.M. The passports can be picked up the following day after 3 P.M.
