During these meetings the leaders discussed developments in the Middle East and regional and international efforts to bring about comprehensive and lasting peace based on the two-state solution. The talks also covered the main priorites for the Swedish Presidency of the EU, including the issue of climatechange. Furthermore the discussions covered means to further strengthen the bilateral ties between Sweden and Jordan, as well as EU and Jordan, in different fields. The visit took place ahead of the Swedish Presidency of the European Union which started on July 1st. During the visit King Abdullah was also invited for lunch with the Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.
