Jordanian Minister of Environment in Sweden

HE the Minister of Environment, Mr Khaled Irani payed a visit to Sweden on 22 June.

During the visit the minister visited Hammarby Sjöstad, a development area of Stockholm which has been build within a concept of sustainable city. In Hammarby Sjöstad, among other places, a number of climate friendly technologies at the end-user level are being promoted, particularly as regards energy efficiency. The visit also included meetings with the Swedish Ministry of Environment. On 23 June HE Mr Irani accompanied HM King Abdallah's delegation to Sweden, during which climate change and other envirnmental issues were discussed.

Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia paid a state visit to Jordan in 1989.
