Starting on the first of May this year, Iraqis who wish to enter Jordan will need a visa issued in advance.

The Swedish Embassy in Jordan was opened in 1981. The first Swedish ambassador was officially accredited to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in 1981 and the first Ambassador based in Amman was appointed in 1986. Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia paid a state visit to Jordan in 1989.
