Presidency Statement on the Joint Statement of Intent regarding support to gas sector reform in Ukraine and the purchase of gas from Russia

The Presidency of the European Union welcomes the Joint Statement of Intent regarding support to gas sector reform in Ukraine and the purchase of gas from Russia, agreed today by the European Commission, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

The implementation of the commitments made by Ukraine in this context, will greatly assist Ukraine in ensuring a viable and efficient gas sector in the country, operating for the benefit of the consumers in Ukraine as well as in the European Union.
