Explosion in the central parts of Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova

A hand grenade exploded in a crowd in the central parts of Chisinau the night between Wednesday and Thursday.

The explosion took place during a concert held in celebration of the "Chisinau Day".

Around thirty people are said to having been wounded and brought to hosptial, but no deaths have been reported. According to information from the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Moldova the explosion was caused by an older type of hand grenade.

There is no information about foreign citizens being injured.
