Accordingly, starting from April 7th 2008, moldovan citizens will be able to apply for visas to Sweden at the EU Visa Centre in Chisinau.
After the signing ceremony in Chisinau on February 28th, the Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs welcomed the EU Visa Centre as a model for facilitating people's movement.
For his part, Hungarian Ambassador Mihaly Bayer informed that negotiations are currently carried out with Norway and Cyprus on similar arrangements.
The EU Visa Centre in Chisinau opened on 25 April 2007. Currently the centre issues visas for Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia and Slovenia.
