Sweden Opens Doors for Foreign Workers

The Swedish government has unveiled one of the most significant reforms of Swedish immigration policy for decades.

By making it easier for people from abroad to find work in Sweden the government hopes to meet challenges in the labor market and encourage a more culturally diverse and open society.

    As of 23 January 2009 the new application fee for a Schengen Visa will be INR 3,900 and the application fee for a new Work Permit will be 12,000. For other application fees – please contact the Embassy. All payments for application fees regarding Visas should be made by Bank Draft in favour of the “Embassy of Sweden (Visa)”. As of 1 February 2009 no other form of payment will be accepted.
