New Swedish logo for the EU-presidency

The logo for the Swedish EU-presidency has been launched.

Sweden will head the European Union for six months starting from July 2009. Follow the link to see what the logo look like.

Energy consumption in Lithuania per capita is three times higher than the average among EU15 countries. One of the priorities of the Lithuanian Government is energy saving and greater efficiency. The Nordic countries have a long experience in this area. Some examples are renovation and reconstruction of buildings for energy saving, district heating, low-energy and passive houses. In August 2009 the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance was founded. The Institute is a joint non-profit project initiated by Bonniers Business Press, Ernst & Young, Glimstedt, ISM University, NASDAQ OMX Baltic stock exchanges and The Swedish Chamber of Commerce. The Institute aims to improve awareness of good Corporate Governance in the Baltic region.

The Swedish Presidency of the EU 1 July – 31 December 2009. Taking on the challenge. “The European Union is facing a crucial period. Together we must deal with the economic crisis and unemployment, but also unite the world to tackle climate change. The Swedish Presidency is ready to take on the challenge.” Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt.
