Swedish Business Awards Estonia 2009

The Swedish Minister for Trade, Mrs Ewa Björling (on the photo), is visiting Tallinn on Tuesday, October 20th to participate in the Swedish Business Award prize ceremony in the Kumu Art Museum.

On Tuesday, October 20th the first ever Swedish Business Award winners in Estonia will be announced. The prize ceremony will take place at the Kumu Art Museum together with a high level conference which will be focused on ideas to reach out for further achievements and create a competitive response for recessionary times.

The Swedish Business Awards were established in Lithuania 2006 and now it is the first time an award ceremony is to be held in Estonia.

The main speakers of the conference are: Prof. Peter J. Williamson, University of Cambridge, one of the world's leading management thinkers, focusing on global changes in the business climate, Mrs. Kerstin Born, Head of CSR Europe, about Corporate Social Responsibility – benchmarks and practices, Mr. Mattias Klum, trend-setting professional photographer, specializing in natural history and cultural subjects, and Mr. Håkan Berg, Head of Baltic Banking, Swedbank.

Speeches will also be held by Mr. Juhan Parts, Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia, Mrs. Ewa Björling, Swedish Minister for Trade, and H.E. Jan Palmstierna, Ambassador of Sweden to Estonia.

The event is organized by The Embassy of Sweden and the Swedish Trade Council together with the founding partner Swedbank in order to promote trade between Estonia and Sweden. The Swedish Business Awards 2009 emphasizes innovativeness, outstanding business achievements and the importance of corporate social responsibility. The prizes will be given in three categories: Fastest growing Swedish owned company in Estonia, Innovator of the year and Corporate Social Responsibility.
