The Swedish EU Presidency and Nordic Council of Minsiters have the pleasure to invite You to the Baltic Sea Strategy Seminar
The Baltic Sea has been an important communication channel for thousands of years and trade in the region flourished. Now the time has come to revitalize the cooperation and to work together for growth, prosperity and clean environment.
By end of October the European Council is expected to give its endorsement and formal green light to the first regional strategy within the European Union. The strategy has been processed and finalized after intensive consultations with governments, NGO:s and private sector participants and other stake holders in the Region. The Strategy contains a very concrete Action Plan setting out fifteen Priority Areas, designed to address specific and important issues for its region, citizens and enterprises.
In short the strategy aims at:• cleaning up the Baltic Sea• making the Region more prosperous with more trade and innovative companies• making the Region better connected in transport and electricity, and• making the Region effective in dealing with accidents and cross-border crime combating
