    The Embassy of Sweden in Kuala Lumpur will be closed in the end of November due to its move to a new location at the 8th floor in Plaza OSK on Jalan Ampang. The new premises are not far away from the current premises. The closest LRT station is Ampang Park.

    On the 12 November 2009 the Swedish Ambassador Helena Sångeland, as the Presidency of the European Union, participated as one of the speakers at the launch of a new forum for Malaysian European cooperation. The Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak launched the forum which aim is to strengthen the links between the EU and Malaysia. The event, attended by 300 people, took place at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

    The Swedish Embassy is this year organising the annual European Union Film Festival held 12-22 November. The films will be screened at GSC Mid-Valley Megamall, GSC 1 Utama and GSC Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and includes 19 films from 15 different European countries.

    On 12-13 October the Swedish Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, as the presidency of the EU, organised a visit together with Iskandar Malaysia for the EU Ambassadors to Johor, the most southern state of West Malaysia. Twelve EU Ambassadors, the Head of the EC Delegation to Malaysia led by the Swedish Ambassador to Malaysia, Helena Sångeland, participated in the visit.

    The 4th of August Ambassador Helena Sångeland participated in the launching of Jalenas Open-access Network in Kuantan, in the state of Pahang. Thousands of people were present when the Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Najib Razak opened the ceremony together with the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Datuk Dr. Maximus Ongkili.
