SAAB delivered a top modern defence system to Greece.

A delivery ceremony of the Swedish-manufactured defence system “Erieye Airborne Early Warning & Control Systems”, was held the 12th of February at the Elefsina-base nearby Athens. The system is with that formally delivered to the Greek air force by SAAB.

The Greek Air Force stood as host for the ceremony. Participating from the Greek side were the Chief of the Hellenic Defence General Staff, General Grapsas, the Chief of the Air Force as well as the Army Chief of Staff. Several participants from the Greek Air Force and other relevant authorities were also there to represent Greece. From Sweden a large delegation from SAAB, the Swedish Ambassador Håkan Malmqvist and the Swedish Defence Attaché Anders Andersson participated together with Swedish representatives from the Ministry of Defence, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration and the Swedish Air Force.

The program opened with an overflight by an “Erieye system” escorted by four combat aircrafts. The guests later hade the opportunity to see the systems which were presented at the apron of the air base. The Greek national defence has now received a system with great potential for military use which can also operate within the civil security sector.

The day finished with a well-attended and a successful reception at the Swedish residency in Athens where representatives from the Greek and Swedish national defence were invited.

The baby product company BabyBjörn has visited Athens for a press event this week. The event was held at the Swedish residency with around 40 guests, mostly from Greek media, with some special invited children from 4 months of age up to 1 year. Potties, baby carriers, travel beds and babysitters covered a large part of the residential terrace and were closely examined by the guests. Discussions came up not only on baby products, but also on quality and safety for children and adults. Many appreciated the specially made test baby sitters for adults that BabyBjörn brings to exhibitions and different events. These were exact copies of the original and were greatly used later on.
