Sweden's new ambassador in Lusaka Marie Andersson de Frutos presented her credentials to the president today. The ceremony, which was held between 10.30 and 11.00, was attended by a great number of ministers and journalists.

President Banda underlined the fact that Sweden and Zambia have hade good relations the last fifty years and that he personaly has very warm feelings towards Sweden since his university years in Lund in southern Sweden.

President Banda underlined his determination to fight against corruption. He welcomed increased trade between the countries and invited Swedish companies in particular to the energy and agricultural sector.
