    The Swedish Institute, in co-operation with the Consulate General of Sweden in Istanbul announces a number of scholarships for master degree programs taught in English and research grants at universities, university colleges and research institutions in Sweden for the academic year 2010/2011. Since 2002, around 20 Turkish students are awarded scholarships annually for master's degree studies within the Swedish-Turkish scholarship program.

    The European Union welcomes the signature by Armenia and Turkey, in Zürich on 10 October, of the two protocols relating to the establishment of diplomatic relations and the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, including the opening of the common border. The European Union encourages Armenia and Turkey to remain committed to the process of normalisation and calls for the ratification and implementation of the protocols as soon as possible.

    Istanbul Moda Academy (IMA) is hosting the touring exhibition “Eco Chic – Towards Sustainable Swedish Fashion” in collaboration with the Swedish Institute and the Consulate General of Sweden 1-21 October 2009. The exhibition, which includes 16 designs from 14 Swedish designers, will bring professionals from the fashion and textile industry together for the opening event at IMA on October 1.
