EU Ambassadors met with China

On Tuesday November 3, the 27 EU member states met with China for a working lunch at ambassadorial level. On top of the agenda was the question of climate change and the preparations for the Summit meeting in Copenhagen in December.

The EU and China also exchanged views on a range of important international issues, including Afghanistan/Pakistan and current conflict situations in Africa. Finally, the Swedish EU Presidency took the opportunity to inform China about the imminent entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty and its foreseen implications for the EU as an actor in the UN.
