Welcome to the Embassy of Sweden

The Swedish Embassy in Nairobi represents Sweden in six countries: Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Burundi, Seychelles and Comoros as well as in UNEP and UN-HABITAT. A section of the Embassy is located in Kigali, Rwanda. In addition the Embassy has a Consul in Mombasa, Kenya and in Victoria, Seychelles.

The Swedish language-section is more directed towards Swedish citizens living or travelling abroad with useful information on how the Embassy can assist.

Nov 11 2009 Climate change – a common challenge and top EU priority
On November 11th 2009, the Embassy of Sweden in its capacity as Presidency of the European Union, together with United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) and the Kenyan Institute for Law and Environmental Governance (ILEG), organised a conference in Nairobi under the theme "Climate Change: A Common Challenge". The conference was intended to contribute to raising awareness on the impacts that climate change and the climate change negotiating process has and will have on Kenya and its people, and on the actions needed now and beyond the upcoming climate change conference in Copenhagen (COP15). The conference attracted close to 200 enthusiastic participants from all sectors and backgrounds.
