Be aware of bogus university courses

It has come to the Embassy’s knowledge that non-approved education providers are operating in Sweden offering online university courses. In Daily Nation of 8th May 2009 the Kenyan Commission for Higher Education warned of the same.

The Swedish National Agency for Higher Education has informed the Swedish Government that two non-approved education providers since some time are operating in Sweden. Online university courses offered are not in accordance with Swedish regulations for higher education or approved by relevant international bodies.

The named organisations are:
• Alhuraa University in Sweden, Vällingby and
• Scandinavian University of Science and Technology, Angered

Persons interested in higher education are requested to consult Kenya’s Commission for Higher Education, if in doubt, before enrolling into undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in any local or foreign higher education institution.
