Increased Swedish tourism to Israel

The ministry of tourism in Israel reports of a positive development in the number of tourists visiting Israel.

Last year 56 200 tourists from the Nordic countries visited Israel, an increase of 26 % comparing to previous year. Sweden stand for the biggest part of tourist from the Nordic countries and also shows a positive trend with an increase of 25 %.

Ms Emily Elhacham was awarded a Diploma of Excellence for developing a potential Lifesaving Nanosensor Technology breakthrough. The winner was a Turkish student who developed an innovative method for generating energy through piezoelectric pulses from falling rain drops. In all, national winners from 30 countries will competed for the honour, which included a USD 5,000 price award and a blue crystal sculpture in the shape of a water droplet.
