Metal-group Draconian coming to Israel
Swedish band Draconian is giving a concert at Barby Club in Tel Aviv 27th of February. The first time Draconian came to Israel was in 2007 when they had a successful performance.

Professor Ada Yonath, currently active at Weizmann Institute of Science, together with professor Venkatraman Ramakrishnan and professor Thomas A Steitz have been awarded the 2009 Nobel Prize of Chemistry.

Passing of Guy von Dardel
Guy von Dardel, half-brother of Raoul Wallenberg, passed away on 28 August 2009 in Geneva. von Dardel fought tirelessly up until his death to shed light on the fate of Raoul Wallenberg. His efforts have been invaluable. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs will pay homage to von Dardel at his burial on 3 September. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs will be represented by Ambassador Marie-Claire Swärd Capra, Permanent Mission of Sweden in Geneva.

Young Israeli wins Diploma of Excellence at Stockholm Junior Water Prize
Ms Emily Elhacham was awarded a Diploma of Excellence for developing a potential Lifesaving Nanosensor Technology breakthrough. The winner was a Turkish student who developed an innovative method for generating energy through piezoelectric pulses from falling rain drops. In all, national winners from 30 countries will competed for the honour, which included a USD 5,000 price award and a blue crystal sculpture in the shape of a water droplet.

The annual international Clean Tech Exhibition in Tel Aviv (Airport City) on environmental quality, renewable energies and water technologies has invited Ecoocean to present its underwater photographs on water animals and harm caused to these animals by environmental pollution. The exhibition will be featured at the Clean Art section of the exhibition. Other artists from all over Israel will also present their works.

Foreign Minister Carl Bildt condemns the shootings in Jerusalem
"The fatal shootings in Jerusalem are an unacceptable terrorist attack and I condemn them in as strong terms as they have been condemned by the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and others. Terrorist attacks targeted at innocent civilians can never be accepted. There is a risk that this attack will lead to a further escalation of violence, says Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt.

Ingmar Bergman play at the Habima Theatre
