Swedish world-renowned astronaut Christer Fuglesang visits Israel on 25 January - 1 February

Christer Fuglesang is a Swedish physicist and an ESA astronaut. and the first Swedish citizen in space. He is a Fellow at CERN and taught mathematics at the Royal Institute of Technology at Stockholm before being selected to join the Astronaut Corps of the European Space Agency in 1992. He has participated on two Space Shuttle missions and five spacewalks, and is the first astronaut outside of the United States or Russian space programs to participate in more than three spacewalks.

As a member of a delegation from NASA, Mr Fuglesang will participate in the
Fifth Ilan Ramon Annual International Space Conference at Fisher Brothers Institute for Air and Space Strategic Studies, Israel Air Force Center in Herzliya, 27 - 28 January 2009. The Israeli austronaut Ilan Ramon perished with the Columbia spaceship in 2003.
