First Vice Speaker of the Swedish Parlament visits Belgrade and Podgorica

Mr Jan Björkman, First Vice Speaker of the Swedish Parliament will visit Belgrade and Podgorica between 8 and 11 November 2009 together with a delegation of MP´s.

Mr Björkman, who is very knowledgable about Western Balkans, will meet his counterparts in Belgrade and Podgorica, as well as other politicans in order to discuss issues related to Serbia´s and Montenegro´s integration into the EU.

The visiting delegation will also meet the three MP´s from the Environmental Protection Committé of the Serbian Parliament who will participate in a study trip to Sweden 1-2 December . The Serbian MP´s will follow the work of the Swedish parliament.

This is a project that has been initiated by the local Swedish EU Presidency, according to which all embassies of the EU-countries in Serbia are encouraged to support the project by enabling young Serbian MP´s to travel to their respective capitals to follow the work of their parliaments.
