EU Film Festival 1-16 November 2009
This is the 21st European Film Festival taking place in Amman. As has always been the case, watching the movies is free of charge and open to the public.
The Film Festival is mainly funded by the Delegation of the European Commission to Jordan, together with the embassies of the European Union Member States in Amman. It is arranged by the European Union headed by the current presidency of the Swedish Embassy in Amman, in cooperation with the Royal Film Commission. OrangeRed is the event organizer. The event is under the patronage of HRH princess Rym Ali.
During the festival, films from 15 European countries will be screened. Many of the films screened have some aspects in common, and therefore two main themes have been chosen. The first one, Cultural dialogue, concerns the dynamics and frictions that appear when people of different background meet. The second, Past versus present, deals with the dynamics of the passing of time, the relationship between young and old, and Europe’s colorful history.
