PERFORMANCE: Live Action New York 09

Live Action New York 09 is a new visual performance art event that showcases 15 major and emerging Scandiavian performance artists.

This year's event takes place at Scandinavia House in Manhattan on November 6-7 and at Grace Exhibition Space in Brooklyn on November 9-11.  Swedish performance artist Elin Wikström as well as Swedish visual artists Hans Sternudd and Joakim Stampe are among the featured participants.

    The Swedish Program at Columbia University presents a two-day celebration of the 1909 presentation of the Nobel Prize for Literature to the Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf, the first woman and the first Swede to receive the prize.

    The performance duo Termik with choreographer Teresia Björk and composer Mikael Godée, will present their work in New York. They will also develop a new production together with poet Ron Padgett and choreographer Douglas Dunn to open at Douglas Dunn & Dancers on Broadway.
