CIRCUS: US Debut of Inside Out by Cirkus Cirkör at BAM
Acclaimed Swedish cirque nouveau troupe Cirkus Cirkör will make its US debut at BAM presenting Inside Out featuring live music by Irya's Playground.
Inside Out, described by one Swedish newspaper as "...A magical breathtaking performance...a powerful inter-disciplinary work of art...", is a circus show celebrating the circus arts, it’s technical skilfulness, magic and way to look upon life. The guest performance, supported by the Consulate General of Sweden in New York and others, will be presented at BAM November 12-15 as part of the Next Wave Festival.
Accompanied onstage by dub-punk-new wave-electro-inspired band Irya's Playground and featuring an outlandish mix of highly skilled acrobatics, musical theater, and spectacle, Inside Out boggles the mind by way of the body. Actors and acrobats course through veins, explode through space like uncoiled strands of DNA, and lunge across synapses to become the body electric. Breathtaking, poetic, and humorous, never before has there been such a fantastic, gravity-defying voyage.
